Religious Weddings
Catholic
If you are both certified Catholics (with
proof of baptism and confirmation), you are eligible
for a full Catholic ceremony in a Catholic Church.
If only one of you is Catholic, you're eligible for
a blessing ceremony in a Catholic Church, which means
you must have a civil ceremony prior. Catholic weddings
in Italy can take place only in Catholic churches!
Protestant
We have Protestant
ministers in many of our locations, who are willing
to celebrate weddings in a villas or gardens. We can
also organize your wedding in a Protestant Church
in Venice or Florence. Protestant ministers are not
given the authority in Italy to provide a legal marriage
therefore a civil ceremony is necessary prior to the
Protestant ceremony.
Civil Weddings
We have an abundance of historic
town halls where you can tie the knot. Legally valid
civil weddings in Italy must almost always take place
in a town hall. Different town halls in Italy have
different days they do weddings for foreigners and
they charge widely differing amounts. The paper work
process is very specific and not easy to understand
for those not accustomed to how it works in Italy.
We don't suggest trying it on your own. Once a client
commits to our services we carefully lead you through
the process.
Please see our FAQ
page where you may find answers to more of your questions.
Because we understand about the numerous initial questions
that arise when you are considering a wedding in Italy,
we also send brides and grooms a more extensive FAQ
page once they sign on with us.
